3. Scope
   This Policy applies to our website and our mobile apps (Android/iOS). It covers location access while the app is in use and, if enabled by you, in the background for attendance features.

4. Summary (TL;DR)
   • We access precise location in the foreground to validate on-site check-ins and compute distance to the workplace.
   • With your opt-in, we may access precise location in the background (geofencing) to detect arrival/departure and trigger clock-in/out reminders even when the app is closed.
   • We do not sell personal data and do not use location for advertising or profiling.
   • You can disable background location any time in device settings; some features may be limited.

5. Data we collect
   A. Identity & contact: name, email/phone, user/account IDs.
   B. Workplace info (if provided by your employer): company/site ID, role, shift assignments.
   C. Location data:
   • Foreground location (precise) while using the app, for on-site check-in validation and distance calculation.
   • Background location (precise, optional/opt-in) for geofenced reminders and arrival/departure detection when the app is closed.
   D. Device & usage data: OS version, device model, IP address, app logs, crash/error data, cookie/identifier data.
   E. Communications: support requests, emails/forms, in-app messages.
   F. Payments (if applicable): transaction metadata from our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers).
   G. Media you upload (optional): files/images you choose to share.

6. How we use data
   • Verify on-site check-ins/outs and prevent off-site check-ins.
   • Trigger shift reminders and notifications at start/end of shifts.
   • Manage shifts, timesheets, and basic reporting (exports).
   • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
   • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

7. Legal bases (Israel/EU/UK)
   • Performance of a contract (providing the attendance service).
   • Consent (e.g., background location, optional marketing).
   • Legitimate interests (service operation, safety, improvement).

8. Location access — clear disclosure
   • Foreground: We access precise location while you use the app to confirm check-ins occur near the workplace and to calculate distance.
   • Background (opt-in): If you enable it, we access precise location in the background to detect arrival/departure and show geofenced clock-in/out reminders when the app is closed.
   • We do not use location for advertising or profiling and do not sell location data.
   • Control: You can turn off background location in your device settings and inside the app at any time. Disabling background access may limit automatic reminders; you can still check in manually while using the app.

9. Cookies & similar tech (website)
   We use essential cookies for site functionality and, if enabled, analytics cookies to improve the Service. Manage preferences via your browser and our cookie banner (where available).

10. Sharing of information
    We share data only with:
    • Service providers (e.g., hosting, payments, email/SMS, analytics) under confidentiality/data-processing terms;
    • Authorities/legal advisers when required by law or to protect rights/safety.

    Your data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

    • Attendance/account records: while your account is active and for 3 months after termination.

    When no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize data.

    We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, hardening). No method is 100% secure; we continuously improve our safeguards.

    • Background location: Device Settings ▶ App permissions ▶ Location (enable/disable “Allow all the time”).
    • Foreground location: you can disable location altogether; check-in features may be limited.

    • Marketing: you can opt out any time.

16. Children’s privacy
    Our Service is intended for users 18+. If we learn that we collected data from a minor contrary to law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

    We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on our site/app.
